The Hotel Huerto del Cura receives the Silver Medal in the delivery of Medals of the Bimil·lenari d'Elx celebrated within the framework of the 9th of October, day of the Valencian Community.
“The medal is for one of the diamonds of the city's hotel and tourist offer, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Since it opened its doors thanks to the obstinacy of the Orts family, to be first a campsite and then a colonial-style hotel, this hotel establishment has captivated thousands of tourists, some of them renowned, who have stayed in our city. ”
“In recent decades the hotel has been growing and modernizing. In 2020 it was acquired by the Port Hotels hotel chain, a company led by businessman Toni Mayor, also president of the Hotel Association of the Valencian Community HOSBEC. With a face lift and the transformation of its spaces to become the quality reference in the province, this hotel has managed to combine innovation with tradition, it has maintained its distinctive character by being an oasis in the center of the city.” With these words concluded the presentation of the Silver Medal.
Patricia Maciá, Deputy Mayor of the Elche City Council, was in charge of delivering the Silver Medal, which was collected by Rafael Blanquer, General Manager of Port Hotels.
"This recognition is very special for us since this year we are celebrating the trajectory of an establishment that is much more than a hotel: it is gastronomy, it is culture, it is nature and it is pure Ilicitan," assured Blanquer, also President of AETE (Association of Tourist Companies of Elche).
“When in 2019 we acquired the hotels Port Jardín Milenio, Port Elche and also the Hotel Huerto del Cura, we made a firm commitment to a destination of great cultural and business value such as Elche. We want to take advantage of this moment to show our gratitude to the entire society of Elche for the great reception we have received in the city and to support our management, with which we have wanted to respect the DNA of the Hotel Huerto del Cura and the other establishments.”
The Hotel Huerto del Cura will celebrate its first Gastronomic Days between October 3 and November 6, as part of the establishment's 50th Anniversary celebration, with a menu that will revisit the great classics of its Els Capellans Restaurant .
Rafael Blanquer, General Director of Port Hotels, assures that "gastronomy is a structural part of the hotel's history and in the year of its 50th anniversary it was essential to create a menu that paid tribute not only to the avant-garde and traditional cuisine of Els Capellans , but also to all the people who have made it possible.”
The current chef of the Hotel Huerto del Cura, Jesús Gómez Bedoya, will be in charge of preparing and surprising diners with the great classics of the restaurant, in a menu that will be served from Thursday at noon until Sunday.
The Hotel Huerto del Cura (Elche, Alicante) remakes the menu prepared by the celebrities of the new edition of Masterchef Celebrity in the city of Elche in the program broadcasted on Monday, September 19.
During the recording of the program, which took place last May, the contestants of the program stayed at the Hotel Huerto del Cura and had the opportunity to taste the typical flavors of Els Capellans Restaurant.
Exclusively during this week, those who visit the hotel restaurant will be able to taste a menu made up of the famous tomato mille-feuille with goat cheese, a flatbread with roasted vegetables, a masterful lamb shoulder and a cheese and date soufflé, in homage to the typical products of the city.

The coast of Elche has six extensive beaches where the north is characterized by its dunes and the south by its pine forests. With 9 km of spaces of great ecological value such as the Carabassi dunes or the beaches of La Marina, the beaches of Elche are perfect enclaves for scuba diving and water sports due to their proximity to the Tabarca Island marine reserve.

The wide beach of El Altet, in its two kilometers of fine sand , forms a dune ecosystem that makes it a national benchmark, given the scarcity of this type of habitat in the national geography. It has been awarded a blue flag due to its quality and accessibility.

With almost three kilometres, Arenales del Sol beach is one of the most valued on the Alicante coast , both for the quality of its waters, the richness of its seabed and for its embryonic, mobile, fixed and even fossil dunes. It is the only area with an urban center facing the sea and it has a long promenade, equipped with wooden walkways to access the shore.

BOOK: Hotel Port Elche

Beach of fine golden sand , formed by a system that combines recent high dunes, fossil dunes and pine forests of great geological and environmental value. The richness of its seabed and its proximity to the Balsares and Clot de Galvany salt marshes and wetlands, with which it forms a single ecosystem, favor its consideration as an ecological protection area, with interesting native flora and fauna. It has a part classified as a free beach, suitable for the practice of nudism.

BOOK: Hotel Huerto del Cura

It extends along almost two kilometers of fine golden sand on an impressive dune strip, framed by an extensive pine forest that extends towards Guardamar del Segura, to the south, and the Natural Park of Las Salinas de Santa Pola, to the north.

A kilometer and a half of dune strip and an extensive pine forest are the main attractions of this beach, connected to the urban center of the district that gives it its name.

BOOK: Port Jardín Milenio

On the border with Guardamar and next to the mouth of the Segura river, it is a virgin and quiet beach with two kilometers of fine sand .
The program presented by the architect Arturo Franco broadcasts the episode dedicated to the Jardín Huerto del Cura , with which our Hotel Huerto del Cura shares natural heritage.
